The ASCE-IL Section Student Outreach Committee focuses on engineering engagement with students of all ages from pre-kindergarten through college.
For our younger students, we volunteer at events that introduce children to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and various engineering disciplines, such as civil engineering. We want to raise public awareness of the value of the field of civil engineering offers society and the opportunities it presents for future engineers.
For our university students, we offer outreach, mentorship and scholarship programs to guide them as they progress their way to their engineering careers. We want to offer a professional understanding and new networking opportunities to our university students with working engineers as they enter the civil engineering work-force.
