The Illinois Section Infrastructure Report Card Committee is preparing for the release of the next Report Card for Illinois Infrastructure in 2027!

Register by January 30th!

We’re looking for both engineers and experts from diverse infrastructure disciplines to help evaluate and update the state’s infrastructure grades.

The Report Card is a key tool for communicating Illinois’ infrastructure needs and priorities to policymakers and the public. Our previous report, published in 2022, assessed eleven categories of infrastructure, Illinois Infrastructure Report Card | ASCE.

We are currently seeking a deputy committee chair(s), as well as discipline lead and author volunteers for the following areas (bold is where we need volunteers for):

– Aviation

– Bridges

– Broadband (NEW)

– Dams

– Drinking Water

– Energy (NEW)

– Inland Waterways

– Ports

– Rail

– Roads

– Schools (NEW)

– Stormwater

– Transit

– Wastewater

New categories will be added if possible based on member interest and expertise.

Our kickoff orientation is tentatively scheduled for Winter of 2026, with publication targeted for April 2027. Volunteers typically commit about 5-10 hours per month.
